CAPTURE THE ENIGMA OF THE NIGHT SKY
WITH CARLY HIGGINS
When the sun goes down and the darkness creeps in, photography takes on a new set of rules. Our night photography workshops will give you the skills to use your camera to its ultimate potential, taking photos of some of the darkest skies in the world – Fuerteventura, Starlight Reserve, UNESCO.
Fuerteventura is one of the world’s best kept secrets - incredibly dark skies at night and a landscape of natural beauty, from the best beaches in Europe to volcanic backdrops and the charm of Majorero culture. Join us for a different type of holiday.
Our workshops are designed for photographers who understand the basic manual settings of their cameras and want to challenge their night photography skills. This is an introduction into low light photography. It includes two hours of theory each afternoon, followed by a meal and then the real adventure begins - exploring the stunning locations around the island to practise what you have learnt. Post processing is an essential part of night photography and you will be shown how to master the various programs.
The main workshop takes place over three nights, however, we recommend that you book on an additional two nights to fully explore the island and your photography skills.
What will you learn?
Everyone will receive a refresher on shooting manual. We will visit multiple locations, exploring the beautiful island. You will have guidance on discovering your creative potential and seeing the landscape from a different perspective.
By the end of the workshop you will be able to:
Produce pin point images of the stars.
Get sharp long exposures.
Choosing the correct camera settings to get your desired image.
Depending on the season, capturing the milky way and meteors
In our post processing sessions there will be:
A detailed walk through of RAW processing software, Photoshop CC, Adobe camera RAW and Adobe Lightroom.
Tuition on stacking software to create star trails.
Guidance on how to stitch images to create starry night sky panoramas.
Daily support and guidance to enable you to process images of your choice.
